How Much Does A Fiberglass Inground Pool Cost?
Posted by Nathan Edwards
The age old question, how much does it cost? Of course that is the most important question of all when you get right down to it. The cost of a pool can vary greatly depending on many different factors. One of the things I tell people is look at it like buying a car. You can get the base car for “x” amount but when you start adding options to the car the price will increase dramatically in some cases. The same goes for fiberglass inground pools.
Fiberglass pools are broken down into small, medium, and large pools. Small pools are usually no longer than 25’ in length, medium pools are up to 35’, and large are anything over 35’ in length.
Buying just the shell
Occasionally I have people that ask about buying just the shell to install themselves. Even though we do not recommend this it can be done. Buying just the shell means just that. Nothing else is included. No filter system, no plumbing components-- Just the shell.
- Small fiberglass shell - $9,000 to $14,000
- Medium fiberglass shell - $13,000 to $19,000
- Large fiberglass shell - $16,000 to $22,000
Basic install
This will include the shell, shipping, excavation, pool install, backfill, pool full of water, pump and filter system. $22,000 to $41,000. (There are many factors that can affect this price, not limited to options you can add. Think of the car.)
Basic install plus decking
Everything that is included in the basic install package plus the decking around the top of the pool. There are many different options when it comes to decking, stamp concrete, broom finish concrete, pavers, travertine, that can affect the price. $28,000 to $55,000
Turn Key
Basic installation including electrical and fencing. (We do everything) $35,000-$65,000
Hopefully this can answer some questions about the general pricing on fiberglass swimming pools. As I mentioned before the range in pricing can vary depending on many different factors that can be associated with your pool project. Because I know that it is tough to try to find information on pricing hopefully this little bit here helps you get started.
